Alleged drunk driver rear-ends vehicle killing pregnant woman

When there is a car accident in Texas, there is always the chance that it will result in severe injuries and even death. Some of these accidents happen due to situational factors that cannot be controlled such as the weather or an unforeseen circumstance. Others, however, occur because a driver was under the influence, was operating the vehicle recklessly, was distracted behind the wheel or was negligent. One of the most dangerous types of car accidents is a rear-end car crash. Those who have been hurt or lost a loved one in this type or any kind of car accident must be aware of how it can affect their lives and consider a legal filing to be compensated.

A rear-end car accident claimed the life of an 18-year-old pregnant woman. The accident occurred at around 12:45 a.m. The driver of a white Mercedes was allegedly speeding when the vehicle rear-ended a Mazda SUV. The driver of the Mercedes is a 45-year-old firefighter. The people in the Mazda were thrown from their vehicle. The woman’s unborn child did not survive. The other passenger in the vehicle, the woman’s boyfriend, was hospitalized with serious injuries. As law enforcement investigated, they suspected that the firefighter was possibly under the influence.

Research indicates that the most common types of accidents on the road across the nation is a rear-end crash. An estimated 40 percent are accidents of this kind. When there is a car accident in which a vehicle is rear-ended, there can be neck injuries, head injuries and long-term damage with the accompanying hospital stays, lost time at work and more. If there is a fatality, the family will need to try to come to grips with the personal, emotional and financial losses they suffer after a fatal car accident. Insurance companies are reluctant to pay out what the car accident victim and his or her family has really lost and will try to make a settlement offer to avoid a lawsuit. A legal professional can help those who have been injured or lost a loved one to know when an offer is sufficient or if they should pursue a lawsuit.

A pregnant woman was killed when the vehicle she was in was rear-ended by an alleged drunk driver. Her companion was severely hurt. Given the circumstances of this accident with the fatality of a woman and her unborn child, having experienced legal help is essential to move forward with a lawsuit. The investigation is key and a lawyer can be of assistance from start to finish.
